Cremona International Music Academy participants are selected by audition. Applicants are required to submit an electronic recording of two contrasting works (or part of the works) of the applicant’s choice.
Returning students and students studying with the Academy faculty are accepted to the Program without an initial audition but are required to submit a recording for chamber music and ensemble placement.
Application Recording
Applicants are expected to submit a short video recording of two contrasting works (or parts of the works) of their choice. Piano accompaniment is not required.
Application documents must include:
- Application Form (Strings | Piano | Winds | Voice | Composition)
- Electronic recording (with the link to YouTube or Dropbox) included on the Application Form or emailed to [email protected]
- Signed Agreement of Participation
- Signed Rules of Conduct Agreement
All forms must be submitted online or emailed to [email protected] on the day of application. Mailed applications will not be accepted. - Applicant’s Bio included on the Application Form or emailed to [email protected]
- Copy of the applicant’s passport
- Payment of the Application Fee and Tuition Deposit (please see the Tuition and Fees Page). Applications will not be accepted without the required payment.
Early Application: Application documents must be received by March 1, 2025. Applicants are strongly encouraged to apply before the Early Application deadline to secure a place at the Academy.
General Application: Application documents must be received by April 15, 2025.
Late Application: Applications received after April 15, 2025, will be accepted only for the remaining vacant places and are subject to a late application fee. Applications received after May 15, 2025 will not be accepted.
Special Notice for participants from countries that require an entry visa to Italy:
Participants from countries that require an entry visa to Italy must inform the Academy administration at the time of application.
Once the applicant is accepted to the program, the Academy, on behalf of the applicants, will facilitate the process of obtaining official invitation documents through Italian Representatives. They will issue three confirmation letters which must be presented by the participant at the Italian Consulate: An invitation letter, an Accommodation Declaration stating the place of the participant’s staying for the duration of the Academy, and the Certificate of Residency of the Head of the inviting Italian Organization.
The fee of 35 euros ($42) for each invitation is charged by the inviting Italian Organization and is payable at the time of application. The Invitation letter along with other documents will be emailed directly to the participant. Originals of all documents will be mailed directly to the participant’s address. An additional fee applies if special DHL delivery is required.
Payments can be made by PayPal (preferred) or by checks on specified dates (please see the Tuition and Fees Page). All checks must be in US dollars made payable and mailed to:
