Cremona International Music Academy participants are selected by audition. Applicants may audition by submitting an electronic recording performing two contrasting works (or part of the works) of the applicant’s choice. Returning students and students studying with the Academy faculty are accepted to the Academy without formal audition but are required to submit a recording for chamber music and ensemble placement.
For our 2022 season, Cremona Academy will require all enrolled students, members of the families, auditors, and guests to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 by the time of arrival to Cremona.

- Payment of the Application Fee and Tuition Deposit on the day of application. Applications will not be accepted without the required payment.
Special Notice for participants from countries that require an entry visa to Italy:
Participants from countries that require an entry visa to Italy must inform the Academy administration at the time of application. See our Travel page for detailed information.
APPLICATION RECORDING
Applicants are expected to submit a short video recording of two contrasting works (or parts of the works) of their choice. Piano accompaniment is not required.
Returning students and students studying with the Academy faculty are accepted to the Academy without formal audition but are required to submit a recording for chamber music and ensemble placement.
APPLICATION DEADLINE
All application documents must be received by March 15, 2022. Applicants are strongly encouraged to apply prior to the deadline
Applications received after March 15, 2022, will be accepted only for the remaining vacant places and are subject to a late application fee.
TUITION AND FEES
Application Fee: $95
Late Application Fee: $125 (for applications received after March 15, 2022)
Program Fees
Three-Week Program: $2,850
Two-Week Program: $1,950
The fee includes lessons and classes, optional courses, work with accompanists, admission to all events, concerts, master classes, workshops (see a complete listing of lessons and classes on the Program Page)
The fee does not include room and board, airfare, airport transportation, or sightseeing tour.
STUDENT ACCOMMODATION AND MEALS
Academy Room and Board, Three-Week Program: $1,850
Academy Room and Board, Two-Week Program: $1,350
The fee includes two-week accommodation in a three-star hotel, buffet breakfasts, and lunches (does not includes dinners). Student Counselors will reside in the Student Hotel and provide assistance to participants.
It is recommended that participants bring approx. 12-15 Euros per day for evening meals and snacks.
Please note: All unaccompanied minors (students under the age of 18) are required to stay at the accommodation provided by the Academy.
Additional Fees:
- Airport Transportation to and from Cremona: 55 EUR/$65 (each way)
- Sightseeing and Educational Tours: $95
Please note: Sightseeing tour is mandatory for unaccompanied minors (students under the age of 18) and optional for all other participants and guests.
General Accommodation:
The Academy offers accommodation in a four-star hotel in the heart of Cremona to non-active participants, including parents, family members, guests, and participants over 18 years of age at the special Academy rate of $90 per day for a single room, $125 per day for a double room, and $145 for a triple room (limited availability). Participants over 18 years of age. The price includes a full buffet breakfast.
Non-Participant and Auditors Program fee does not include airfare or airport transportation, in or out of town transportation, and sightseeing tours.
The auditing of masterclasses, workshops, and entry to all concerts and events is free of charge.
Special Notice for participants from countries that require an entry visa to Italy:
Participants from countries that require an entry visa to Italy must inform the Academy administration at the time of application. The Academy, on behalf of applicants, will request its Italian Representatives to issue special Invitation and Confirmation Letters which will be sent directly to applicants’ addresses for obtaining the visa at the Italian Consulate in their countries. Please note: The process of issuing Invitation and Confirmation Letters and obtaining the visa at the Italian Consulate could often take a period of two months. The Italian Organization that will be issuing invitation documents charges a fee of 35 euros ($42) per participant for preparing and issuing Invitation and Confirmation Letters. Additional fees apply if special DHL delivery is required. The fee is payable at the time of application. See our Travel page for more information.
PAYMENT AND REGISTRATION SCHEDULE
- A non-refundable application fee of $95 along with the complete application, including the signed Agreement for Participation and Rules of Conduct is due on the day of application.
- Program Fee Deposit of $1,000 is due on the day of application (The Academy will refund the deposit if the applicant is not accepted to the program.)
- Program Fee Balance is due by May 1, 2022.
- Room and Board and General Accommodation Fee are due by May 1, 2022.
- Medical History and Release Form, copies of Medical Insurance and Music Instrument Insurance (string and wind players only) are due by May 1, 2022.
No refunds will be made by the Academy after May 15, 2021
The Academy will refund the Program and Accommodation Fees should the applicant not be accepted to the Program or should the Program be modified or canceled by the Academy. See the Cancellation and Lost Lesson Policy.

COVID-19 GOVERNMENT RESTRICTIONS
We understand that due to the current situation with Covid-19 and worldwide restrictions associated with the pandemic our program might need to be modified.
Cremona Academy is strictly adhering to all USA, Italian, and EU governments’ restrictions and recommendations on health. Should there be any regulations limiting the number of Academy attendees OR travel restrictions by May 15, 2022, the current season of the Academy will be canceled and ALL paid fees, including the Application fee, will be refunded in full.
The Academy will closely monitor the development and will update the website regularly. We will provide the information about any possible changes should they be made.
